Overcome the Sin Problem

Text: Hebrews 10:1-18(GNT)

Key Verse: With one sacrifice, then, he has made perfect forever those who are purified from sin. Hebrews 10:14(GNT)

The root cause of problems is Sin. Adam and Eve’s sin had numerous consequences for the human race. In Genesis three, we can identify them. Humans started to hide from God because of fear and the shame of their nakedness. Adam blamed the woman for his disobedience to God, and the blame game began. Then the judgment of God came on the serpent, the woman, on the ground, upon the man’s work and a death sentence on all humanity.

God, who is rich in mercy, made garments for them with animal skin, but because they had become defiled by sin, the Lord sent them out of the Garden of Eden and from his presence. The enmity between the woman and the serpent started after the fall. Today, the poverty many experience has its roots in the sinful nature of leaders who misappropriate resources for selfish interests.

“When the righteous increase, the people rejoice, But when a wicked person rules, people groan”. Proverbs 29:2(NASV)

To overcome problems in life, we must first address the sin problem.

Sin manifests in our lives differently, but there is only one solution to dealing with it. From the time Moses received the law, humanity has attempted various sacrifices to address the problem of sin, but only one offering could resolve it.

With one sacrifice, Christ made his people perfect forever. They are the ones who are being made holy. Hebrews 10:14(ERV)

Jesus gave himself to be the sinless sacrifice that will cover our sins. God raised him from the dead as proof that the offering was enough. While the sacrifice was sufficient for our sanctification, and we became perfected in the spiritual realm, we need to work out our salvation by yielding to the Holy Spirit in our daily choices.

Christ entered the Most Holy Place only one time—enough for all time. He entered the Most Holy Place by using his own blood, not the blood of goats or young bulls. He entered there and made us free from sin forever.Hebrews 9:12(ERV)

If you confess that Jesus is Lord and believe that God raised him from death, you will be saved.  For it is by our faith that we are put right with God; it is by our confession that we are saved. Romans 10:9-10(GNT)

So then, dear friends, as you always obeyed me when I was with you, it is even more important that you obey me now while I am away from you. Keep on working with fear and trembling to complete your salvation because God is always at work in you to make you willing and able to obey his own purpose. Philippians 2: 12-13(GNT)

We shall explore what the death of Jesus on the Cross accomplished for us as God purifies us for his purpose.
