Beat Loneliness

Topic: Beat Loneliness

Text: Psalm 139:3-4(NLT)

Key Verse:

You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do. You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord.

God is omnipresent, and also omniscient. This is good news for those who love him, and scary for those who fear him.

If you are battling with loneliness and abandonment, l want to remind you that you are not alone as you travel from place to place, neither are your activities hidden from God’s eyes.

Maybe you have felt you are not important to anyone, because nobody calls to ask about your welfare, but can we do something differently today, sow what you want to see happen this month in your life, as a seed in another person’s life.

Seed has potential, whenever it is sown in good ground; it always comes back in multiples. As you sit alone, look around your life, what do you have you can sow? You can sow a prayer, you can share this devotional with others, you can invite a neighbor to lunch, dinner etc. Don’t underestimate the power of your seed!

You see me when I travel and when I rest at home. You know everything I do.

Live with a consciousness that God sees all you do. Time has been measured out to you, it is called life. You might count it in seconds, minutes, hours or days; you can choose to use any unit of measurement to count it. The bottom line is, you are spending it already and will give account of it to the owner of all things.

As you travel, invest it. Read a book; listen to the scriptures, messages, songs etc. You can write poems, letters, devotionals, articles, drama skits etc. You can sketch or draw things inside your heart or things you see. God sees how you spend time!

It is a mistake to spend time in self pity, worrying about yesterday, anxious about tomorrow when you are still in today!

It is a sign of selfishness to think only about you, yourself and yours as if the world will be complete with you alone inside it, think of others. Find someone to love, speak to, give, help, encourage and look around to see who to invest in. If you have the space, you can plant a garden! This thought is specific for someone! It will always come back to you.

You know what I am going to say even before I say it, Lord

Watch your thoughts; they become your words eventually. God is taking note of those words. Words are likened to arrows, once they are shot out, they do not return. Your words are your seeds too!

Every investment yields returns; it may produce positive or negative growth. Since you cannot control the outcome of your words, that is the harvest; you must be diligent to ensure you sow right! Choose your words carefully, its coming back to you in multiples!

If your words are full of fear and unbelief, you will eventually live in a bubble of impossibilities!

Today, join God to create a better version of you. Change your words starting with your thoughts. Make today the best day of your life!
