Text: Isaiah 55

Key verse: “The rain and snow come down from the heavens and stay on the ground to water the earth. They cause the grain to grow, producing seed for the farmer and bread for the hungry”.

God always uses things that happen in nature to teach spiritual principles to make them easy to understand, today\’s text reveals the important role of rain and snow in producing fruitfulness and provision to meet man\’s need. When a farmer toils under a closed heaven his labor is hard. Working without God\’s favor is similar to labor under a closed heaven.

 There are seasons when the heavens can be shut, due to God\’s judgment on the earth and the natural process of sowing and reaping begins to yield little or no result, like in the days of Abraham and his son Isaac. Their responses to the situation were different, Abraham opted to relocate to another land, while Isaac remained in the same place and relied on divine help from heaven.

\”At that time a severe famine struck the land of Canaan, forcing Abram to go down to Egypt, where he lived as a foreigner\” Genesis 12:10

A severe famine now struck the land, as had happened before in Abraham’s time. So Isaac moved to Gerar where Abimelech, king of the Philistines, lived. The Lord appeared to Isaac and said, “Do not go down to Egypt, but do as I tell you. Live here as a foreigner in this land, and I will be with you and bless you. I hereby confirm that I will give all these lands to you and your descendants, a just as I solemnly promised Abraham, your father.\” Gen 26:1-2

It was a natural thing for Isaac to imitate his father and expect the same outcome that will help him survive the famine, but God had a different plan. The word of the Lord came and gave him a specific direction tied to a promise and a covenant already in place. Help from heaven is directly tied to a relationship with God and an understanding of divine principles. People get hurt when their investment fails, people struggle and suffer for years when they simply imitate their parents or copy others instead of receiving a specific world concerning their peculiar situation.

God knows the rain you need to make everything around you begin to grow, and give you the desired harvest. Businesses need rain from heaven, and this rain can either be an opening to a new organization, or access to information about a new product. You cannot rely only on your wits alone to survive the new season we are in, neither can you rely on your skillset or experience, there is a sound in the air, it’s a sound of abundance of rain coming as innovations, new strategies, and a new world order in business and trade. The brick and mortar way of doing things is fast disappearing, you have to upgrade or become extinct, this applies to how we live and do business and ministry. Are you involved in the essentials? There is a new normal in every nation: get into the presence of God, make a prayer of inquiry, and avoid going down to a barren place.

Snow does not fall in every nation but God waters every land. Receive a word that is relevant for your nation and specific for your family and destiny in Jesus\’ name! There is a hunger in the land crying for urgent attention, but first invest in reviving your relationship with God, he has the whole world in his hand and knows how to take us into our own promised land. Seek the Lord while he may be found.

There is help from heaven, look not to man.
