Empowered by the Spirit of Grace

And the LORD said unto him, Go, return on thy way to the wilderness of Damascus: and when thou comest, anoint Hazael to be king over Syria: and Jehu the son of Nimshi shalt thou anoint to be king over Israel: and Elisha, the son of Shaphat of Abel-meholah shalt thou anoint to be prophet in thy room.
1 Kings 19:15‭-‬16 KJV

And thou shalt put them upon Aaron thy brother, and his sons with him; and shalt anoint them, and consecrate them, and sanctify them, that they may minister unto me in the priest’s office.
Exodus 28:41 KJV

No one can successfully fulfill God’s calling and assignment without supernatural help and enablement.

Kings, Prophets, and Priests had to be anointed in the old testament before standing in their office. The anointing with oil was symbolic; it represented the presence,  power, and gifts of the Holy Spirit coming upon the anointed.

Then Samuel took the horn of oil, and anointed him in the midst of his brethren: and the Spirit of the LORD came upon David from that day forward. So Samuel rose up and went to Ramah.”
1 Samuel 16:13 KJV.

The Holy Spirit is called the Spirit of Grace ( Zechariah 12: 10 Hebrews 10:29).

The Holy Spirit is the one who equips and empowers us to fulfill God’s calling and assignment successfully.

In fact, without His help and enablement, we can do or accomplish nothing.

It was the Holy Spirit that empowered Bezaleel.

“And I have filled him with the spirit of God, in wisdom, and in understanding, and in knowledge, and in all manner of workmanship, to devise cunning works, to work in gold, and in silver, and in brass, and in cutting of stones, to set them, and in carving of timber, to work in all manner of workmanship.
Exodus 31:3‭-‬5 NKJV

Even Jesus had to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to function in His earthly ministry. His testimony was that I can of Myself do nothing. ( John 5:19 30)

The Spirit of the Lord is upon me  Because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor;  He hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives,  And recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised,  to preach the acceptable year of the Lord.”
Luke 4:18‭-‬19 KJV

The disciples ( including us ) were given a task in the great commission to go into the World to preach the Gospel and to also make disciples of all Nations. ( Mathew 28: 18,19) and Mark 16:15, but Jesus told them not to undertake the task until they had been equipped or endued with power from the Holy Spirit.

But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost comes upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judæa, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
Acts 1:8 KJV

And, behold, I send the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city of Jerusalem, until ye be endued with power from on high.”
Luke 24:49 KJV

Anyone who desires to fulfill his calling and God-given assignment must learn to depend on and rely on the Holy Spirit.

Spend time with Him in fellowship, and build intimacy with the Holy Spirit. Learn to wait on Him and see your strength renewed daily.

Confession:  I can do all things through the help and empowerment of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit marvelously helps my life and ministry. Therefore I will run my race and finish my cause with joy in Jesus’ name. Amen
