THE POWER WITHIN

A VERSE AT A TIME

TOPIC: THE POWER WITHIN

TEXT: EPHESIANS 3:14-21

KEY VERSE: Now to Him who is able to [carry out His purpose and] do superabundantly more than all that we dare ask or think [infinitely beyond our greatest prayers, hopes, or dreams], according to His power that is at work within us, Ephesians 3:20(AMP)

One of the greatest privileges of the Christian faith is to have God as our Father. As members of his family, we have His life in us, and through the Holy Spirit, we are strengthened and empowered to live according to his purposes. As we grow in understanding Christ’s love, which is immeasurable, we discover how God has blessed us to succeed.

Everything God wants us to accomplish is possible only through his power. We must understand that human nature is weak to accomplish spiritual things, which is why Jesus promised his disciples the gift of the Holy Spirit. As a branch must remain attached to the tree to stay alive and bear fruit, every disciple of Christ must depend entirely on the power of the Holy Spirit.

Stay joined to me, and I will stay joined to you. No branch can produce fruit alone. It must stay connected to the vine. It is the same with you. You cannot produce fruit alone. You must stay joined to me. John 15:4

God’s word is the bread of life that strengthens the believer. But it is the presence of the Holy Spirit that quickens and activates that word so we can perform the will of God. The prophet Isaiah revealed that God’s Spirit accomplishes God’s purposes.

He said, “This is the message from the Lord to Zerubbabel: ‘Your help will not come from your own strength and power. No, your help will come from my Spirit.’ This is what the Lord All-Powerful says. Zechariah 4:6

Paul acknowledged his struggles as he tried to do God’s will until he realized the power source was the indwelling Holy Spirit. This power is sufficient for all our needs of wisdom, understanding, power, counsel and knowledge.

The Spirit of Adonai will rest on him,

the Spirit of wisdom and understanding,

the Spirit of counsel and power,

the Spirit of knowledge and fearing Adonai —

he will be inspired by fearing Adonai.

He will not judge by what his eyes see

or decide by what his ears hear. Isaiah 11:2

Christ is the one who gives me the strength I need to do whatever I must do. Philippians 4:13

All we have prayed for and imagined are nothing compared to what God can do through his power at work in us. Walk out confidently to achieve your goals this year, assured that you have all the help you need through the Holy Spirit that dwells in you. We are more than conquerors because Jesus rose from the dead; his victory became ours, too.

Prayer

  1. Heavenly Father, thank you for your great love for me revealed in Christ.
  2. Father, thank you for the gift of the Holy Spirit poured out upon all your sons and daughters.
  3. Deliver me, Lord, from every feeling of inadequacy and fear of failure in Jesus’ name.
  4. Teach me, Lord, how to access the power within me to do exploits you have planned for me.
  5. Father, help me to align all my dreams and aspirations with your plans and purposes in Jesus’ name. Amen.

What I got is trying to look for external help will always get me confused , so I should endeavor to seek for strength within me and seeking within is not seeking within for my own strength but it’s seeking strength from the holy spirit. I love the prayer points especially the two last prayer points. Because most times I find myself making plans without knowing God’s will for my life.
