Topic: The Gift of the Mind
Text: Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus comes again. 1 Thessalonians 5:23
The man was made in the image of God, as a tripartite being having a spirit, soul, and a body. The spirit of man receives salvation at the new birth and the soul needs renewal to experience complete wholeness.
The will of God is our sanctification so that we will be blameless in all we do and say in this life. Many believers have mastered the art of staying holy, but have not gone on to develop the full potential of the mind.
The soul of man is made up of his mind, will, and emotions. Each of these parts exerts influence on who the man becomes and how he responds to the people and situations around him or her.
At birth we arrive with a mind that is blank, we are taught words from sounds we hear and all our five senses are means through which we learn about the world we live in. Who our teachers are and the environment we are raised has a great impact on who we become.
Most of all, self-awareness of who we are and how we respond to the desires of the mind, will, and emotions help us live balanced lives.
Many Christians live with unsettled and shaken minds because they have not learned how God has made provision for us to go from a corrupt hardened mind to a renewed and sound mind.
So as for you, do not seek what you will eat and what you will drink, nor have an anxious and unsettled mind. Luke 12:29(AMP)
Their minds were hardened( for they lost the ability to understand). 2 Corinthians 3:14
Don’t be so easily shaken or alarmed by those who say that the day of the Lord has already begun. 2Thess.2:2
… Be transformed by the renewing of the mind. Romans 12:2
These are very familiar scriptures yet, we struggle to know how to *make that switch* and live in the victory God desires and has promised us.
The mind is God’s gift to man to help them manage their desires and abilities to analyze information, instructions, introspection, and learning; organizing, planning, and exercising the intellect are all abilities of the mind.
How well have you done in understanding your mind? Have you invested in developing your mind as much as you have done for your body? Much of life’s joys are rooted in knowing how to manage our soul dominance.
You don’t need to be an expert or psychologist to know these things, it’s all in the Word of God. We just need to know where to look and yield to the insights the Holy Spirit gives.
That is how our text can become a reality.
“Now may the God of peace make you holy in every way, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless until our Lord Jesus comes again.”
Are you hungry for truth, are you ready with a growth mindset?
I am excited to know that my future is better than my past, and am ready to cooperate with God to make me blameless and complete, spiritually, mentally, and physically.
Dear friend, l hope all is well with you and that you are as healthy in body as you are strong in spirit*. 3 John 2
