Topic: Provision Is Guaranteed
Text: 1 Samuel 10: 1-9
Key Verse: They will greet you and offer you two of the loaves, which you are to accept. – 1 Samuel 10:4
God chose to reveal himself as Father, so we can relate with him as one and expect him to do what fathers do. A father gives a child his identity, provides, protects, and disciplines. When we have grown up without this father model, it limits our expectations of our heavenly Father.
As soon as Samuel anointed Saul, everything changed. He became God’s responsibility; provision came to him without asking or planning for it. Like a King on assignment, people brought what he needed.
What changed, you may ask? In a few days, the course of Saul’s life was altered, and he located his God’s appointed destiny. God not only sent answers to him but also solved the problem he was troubled about.
God never leaves us in the problem that brought us to him; he meets the need as well as activates his plan for us. I am so glad to know this Father who never leaves you to fix your mess but takes it over and walks you through it.
There is no denying that some problems we are faced with now are a result of wrong choices, wasted opportunities, and ignorance. Some people are suffering from bad connections and associations, who did not get a clear direction from God before we made errors in judgment.
If this speaks about you, then don’t wait one more day in guilt and regret; return to the Father he knows how to fix anything out of order. The world was out of order, covered with darkness, and at God’s word, the process of creation began and gave us a world we never knew was possible.
The earth was barren, with no form of life; it was under a roaring ocean covered with darkness. But the Spirit of God was moving over the water. – Genesis 1:2 CEV
the earth was formless and desolate. The raging ocean that covered everything was engulfed in total darkness, and the Spirit of God was moving over the water. – Genesis 1:2 GNT
And the earth was without order, and empty, and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. Genesis 1:2 JUB
Whatever the formlessness your life may have now, l declare to you that the Father is ready to make something beautiful and glorious out of your life, but you must trust the process and timing of God.
God always works on our hearts; first, it is the source of our decisions, dreams, and motivations. The heart harbors the different conclusions we have made about man, God, and life. These conclusions form our belief system, so for God to do a new thing through you, there is a need for a change in the operating system you are running with.
Our soul dominance makes it even more difficult for some to cooperate with God’s plan; the will dominant person will need so many breaking encounters before they yield, the mind dominant person wants to reason out the logic behind God’s Word and justify it with science, psychology or history. Emotion dominant people find it impossible to believe God’s Word and will for their lives until they feel good about it.
What kind of heart do you have now? The psalmist prayed for a new heart, and God promised to give us new hearts.
Create a pure heart in me, O God, and put a new and loyal spirit in me. – Psalm 51:10
I will give them a new heart and a new mind. I will take away their stubborn heart of stone and will give them an obedient heart. – Ezekiel 11:19
This morning, there is provision for a new heart; start a new page today with God. Is your heart right? Are your expectations of man right and realistic, or are you blinded by lies you have believed over the years?
My prayer for you today is that God will do a new work in you that will bring you into a new season of productivity and significance free from struggle and frustration in Jesus’ name. Amen.
