Instructions from the Mind

Topic: Instructions from the Mind
Text: Proverbs 24: 30 – 32
Key verse:  Then I saw and considered it; I looked and received instruction.
Everything around us send us information through our five senses. People learn from the mistakes of others while others pass by similar learning opportunities without being instructed.

Our mind was created to aid our consideration of outcomes and the reasons behind them. A believer who will not just survive but thrive must be armed with a hunger to be instructed or disciplined by others.

Seeking out a minister,  counselor,  mentor, or coach to help you answer the “Why, How, and What questions” will enlighten your mind and help you take proactive steps to avoid failure in the future.
Submitting to Instruction guarantees provision, protection, and guidance.
There are so many benefits to an instructed mind. A believer needs to acknowledge that we do not have any inbuilt radar in the mind to direct all our decisions especially the spiritual ones,  so God in his mercy gave us his Holy Spirit for instruction. As he instructed them in the wilderness then,  even so, today,  we still hear the voice of the Spirit in many ways instructing us as promised in the word.
Your gentle Spirit instructed them, and you gave them manna to eat and water to drink.
Instructions provide strategies for spiritual warfare.
You helped them defeat the kings and nations and treat their enemies however they wished. They captured strong cities and rich farmland; they took furnished houses, as well as cisterns, vineyards, olive orchards, and numerous fruit trees.

Obedience to instruction leads to the fulfillment of promises.
You brought them into the land that you had promised their ancestors, and you blessed their nation with people that outnumbered the stars in the sky.
The bible documents the life of different people like Isaac,  Noah,  Peter, and several widows,   who followed God’s instructions and experienced a harvest of blessings for themselves and their families.

Then their descendants conquered the land. They ate till they were satisfied, and they celebrated your abundant blessings.- Nehemiah 9:20-25

Even so, today,  as you choose to be attentive to the instructions from those whom the Lord will send to you,  you will be led to your promised land of abundant blessings, in Jesus’ name. Amen
Instructions aid fruitful teaching ministry!
Then Jesus said to the followers, “So every teacher of the law who has learned about God’s kingdom has some new things to teach. He is like the owner of a house. He has new things and old things saved in that house. And he brings out the new with the old.”- Matthew 13:52
As ministers, we need instruction to stay relevant. A minister who yields his mind to be trained or instructed,  will regularly have both new and old revelations to share with those he serves.
The reason many teachers are stuck in fixed mindsets is their unwillingness to receive instruction by committing to pursue higher education,  investing in books,  audios, seminars, and training.
There is more that God is revealing to us,  don’t shortchange yourself through ignorance,  open your heart to grow and learn even from those younger than you.

I know how to live when I am poor and when I have plenty. I have learned the secret of how to live through any kind of situation—when I have enough to eat or when I am hungry, when I have everything I need or when I have nothing. – Philippians 4:12
The journey of life takes a person through different seasons; instruction equips you with the right perspective to interpret the circumstances correctly and respond in a manner appropriate for a believer.  You don\’t need to face trials before you know how a Christian ought to respond,  instruction from your leaders and teachers will prepare your mind ahead of time.

Everything in the Scriptures is God’s Word. All of it is useful for teaching and helping people and for correcting them and showing them how to live. The Scriptures train God’s servants to do all kinds of good deeds. – 2 Timothy 3:16-17
The tool for receiving instructions is the Word of God,  it was given by God to train us to develop a winning mindset to thrive in all seasons of life.  Are you enjoying this benefit?  Is the Bible your “Go to Consultant” or has Google taken its place?
Jesus taught his disciples using their day to day activities,  farming, and different kinds of parables,  how are you exercising your mind to learn from all the things happening around you today?
Prayer
Holy Spirit,  teach me the will of God from the events of my life,  that of others, and by revelation from the word in Jesus name.  Amen.

Father,  help me to tap into the full potential of my mind as l seek daily instruction from the word for my regeneration and creativity in Jesus’ name,  amen.

Lord,  deliver me from laziness and a lackluster attitude towards instruction in Jesus’ name,  amen.

Blessings
