Continued Obedience

Topic: Continued Obedience

Text: Exodus 6: 9-13

Key verse: But the Lord spoke to Moses and Aaron and gave them orders for the Israelites and for Pharaoh, the king of Egypt. The Lord commanded Moses and Aaron to lead the people of Israel out of Egypt.

Great is our God! His ways are past finding out!  His mercy endures forever.

God is not moved by our limitations, neither is he moved by our fears. He is an eternal optimist!

The people could not believe Moses, but it was not Moses they doubted, but rather God who had made the promise to deliver his people. Suffering and pain, trials and temptations leave us in a state of hopelessness, unable to see any silver lining in our future. No matter the unbelief, God is not moved.

This morning our eyes are focused on the effect of other people\’s doubts and fears on you as a believer. Faith inspires faith, just as doubt inspires doubt. The unbelief of the Israelites triggered another season of fear in Moses, a man who had experienced so many miraculous signs in his walk with God.

Even though he had in his life evidences of the power of God to do the supernatural, he started to look  again at himself, his weaknesses and shortcomings.

“But Lord!” Moses objected. “My own people won’t listen to me anymore. How can I expect Pharaoh to listen? I’m such a clumsy speaker!”

God knows our weaknesses yet he believes in us! Before he calls a man, he has seen you finish the assignment, the physical manifestation will depend on the choices you make, what you believe and how you respond to your feelings. What are you feeling today? Discouraged? Afraid? Excited? Angry? Don\’t let your emotions rule you, look to the Holy Spirit to lead you.

God has not changed his mind, no matter how many times you have failed; he still believes in you, you are the man for the mission. Remember, it’s a partnership between you and him; he wants to fulfill the covenant he made not to you alone but to all who believe in him like Abraham.

God has a specific word this morning for you as his vessel. He has a word for the people he is sending you to. He has a word for your adversary. Can you hear it? Believe God today, your story will end in victory, just follow the blueprint. Say what God asks you to say, and walk in faith! His way is the way of continued obedience. He has seen the end, but will give you instructions, one word at a time. As you obey him, the tide will turn, the healing will manifest in Jesus name. Amen. As you obey him, the miracles will follow in Jesus name, amen. As you obey him, the chains that have held you for decades will give way, in the mighty name of Jesus.  Amen.

It’s time to get out of Egypt!
