We are on a mission to win every warfare in our minds. Several books have written about this subject and l encourage everyone here who has not read the Battlefield of the Mind by Joyce Meyer to get a copy and read it while we are on this matter.
Physical warfare is a lot easier for many reasons, you can see your enemy, his position, weapons and you can even invest in doing a back check on him or her to know their weaknesses and strengths. Recall the strategy the Philistines used against Samson to discover the secret to his supernatural strength.
In our warfare against the devil, we are successful when we understand his operation and know his secrets too.
…so that Satan will not outsmart us. For we are familiar with his evil schemes. 2 Cor.2:11
We will spend time to discover the schemes of the devil and get familiar with them so we do not continue to fall into his snares.
In our text today we are introduced to two kinds of weapons, God’s mighty weapons, and worldly weapons. In previous posts, we have reviewed how to use some of God’s mighty weapons, the belt of truth, and the shield of faith. We know that some weapons are for defense while some are for offense or attack. Get to know how to use each weapon skilfully against the enemy of our souls.
What then are these worldly weapons and how do they function? The source of these weapons are from Lucifer himself, so we shall look at some of his schemes to identify them.
Our first example comes from Genesis in the encounter between Eve and the serpent. Observe the strategy, motive, and goal.
Now the snake was the most cunning animal that the Lord God had made. The snake asked the woman, “Did God really tell you not to eat fruit from any tree in the garden?” Genesis 3:1
The devil rarely faces you in the battle directly, he would often cunningly come to you. Subtility is his trademark so be always at alert, expect to see his “trojan horse” on the way to you anytime a good thing from the Lord is coming your way. He is the master of disguise, so don’t expect him to come wearing black with horns and long nails. In case you have ever told your children that the devil has horns or looks black and scary, please correct that lie right away. Remember, his beauty in heaven, and remember Delilah was beautiful too.
What was the motive behind the question the serpent asked Eve? The first thing l see is that he cast doubts in her heart about what God had said and what it meant.
The weapon of doubt is one of the worldly weapons Satan uses. He makes you doubt God\’s love, sincerity, and the efficacy of the power of God. Everything you have heard about God and accepted builds a belief system in your life, this system guides your choices and sieves out what is not compliant. It acts as your control center, it protects you from errors like false doctrines and false teachers. For the enemy to penetrate this wall of defense in your life, he will use the weapon of doubt.
What are some of the things you believed about God that you have suddenly started to question? Thoughts like “Is there a God?” , “If God is good why do bad things happen to me?” ” If God is so powerful, why am l not healed?”. The list can go on and on. The goal of all these questions is for you to doubt God. Listen to what the bible says: No one can please God without faith, for whoever comes to God must have faith that God exists and rewards those who seek him. Hebrews 11:6
If you hope to get anything from God, you must not doubt his existence and his willingness to reward your faith in him. If the devil can get you to doubt God, it is impossible to win your battle against him.
You need to get your shield of faith in place against every doubt the enemy may try to send to you concerning your future in this post-COVID 19 era.
Examine your heart, are there cracks in your belief system? Before it gives way, repent of your doubts in prayer, and ask God for forgiveness ( You know how hurtful it is when your spouse, friends, or family members doubt you), he will graciously forgive you. Then arise and build up your faith with the word of God. I suggest you listen to the word using audio bibles. When your faith is charged up, give the devil a kick he will not quickly forget. Your display of faith in the face of doubtful thoughts is pleasing to God! Hallelujah!!!
We are more than conquerors! Hallelujah! Champions in this life!! We’ve been made victorious, through the blood of Jesus Christ!!!
