God Speaks in Dreams

Topic: God speaks in dreams

Text: Job 33:14-18

Key verse: God speaks in different ways, and we don’t always recognize his voice. Job 33:14

Several scriptural promises assure believers in the Lord Jesus of guidance, counsel, and instruction, but often we miss the messages either because we are not expecting to be guided or we do not discern the ways God speaks. Several believers prefer to hear from their prophets or pastors instead of from God.  It ought not to be so with you.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. John 10:27

If you expect to hear from God, then you must learn some of the ways God speaks. One very simple way God speaks is through dreams. Everyone including children dream, and when our minds are trained to discern our dreams, we will be able to recognize the voice of God. Let’s see a couple of reasons why we must take our dreams seriously.

The purpose of God is to turn us away from harm or evil through dreams. Joseph the father of baby Jesus was instructed about the child’s safety through dreams.

Sometimes in the night, he uses terrifying dreams to give us warnings. God does this to make us turn from sin and pride and to protect us from being swept away to the world of the dead. Job 33:15-18. Genesis 41:1-8

After the wise men had gone, an angel from the Lord appeared to Joseph in a dream and said, “Get up! Hurry and take the child and his mother to Egypt! Stay there until I tell you to return because Herod is looking for the child and wants to kill him. Matthew 2:13

”Gifts are released through dreams*. One night while Solomon was in Gibeon, the Lord God appeared to him in a dream and said, “Solomon, ask for anything you want, and I will give it to you.”

1 kings 3:5, 9, 12, and 15.

God uses dreams to give direction about things to come.Genesis 15:12-18; 37:5-7

God does significant things within dreams, like entering covenants, revealing mysteries, encouragement, etc. The Bible is filled with examples of people who received dreams from God Joseph had dreams in Canaan, in Egypt he interpreted dreams for others.

Do you need to hear from God?

The first thing to do is to change your mind about dreams.

Believe that your dreams contain messages.

Ask God in prayer to speak to you through your dreams.

Practice writing down your dreams immediately you wake up.

Learn the principles of dream interpretation.

Don’t be afraid of making a mistake.

I have several testimonies of God’s leading in spiritual warfare, business direction, and above all encouragement through dreams. I challenge you to pursue God in this season and activate your mind to receive messages through dreams. We have received an outpouring of the Spirit, it will manifest through dreams also.

And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: Act 2:17

Prayer

Father forgive me for ignoring messages sent to me through dreams in Jesus’ name, amen.*

I come against every power hindering me from recalling my dreams in Jesus’ name. amen*

Lord, I wait for you with expectations. Speak to me through dreams in Jesus’ name, amen*.
