Grace: Tool for Ministry and Divine Calling.
“Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the Grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of his power. Unto me, who am less than the least of all saints, is this Grace given, that I should preach among the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ; and to make all men see what is the fellowship of the mystery, which from the beginning of the world hath been hid in God, who created all things by Jesus Christ:
Ephesians 3:7-9 KJV
We established earlier in this series that Grace is a supernatural enablement. We also showed that no one could carry out God\’s work successfully without the Grace of God.
Our text shows us that Grace is assignment specific. God equips us based on the calling upon our lives. Severally in his epistles, Paul uses the expression “My Grace” or Grace given to Me.”
“Even as it is meet for me to think this of you all because I have you in my heart; inasmuch as both in my bonds, and in the defense and confirmation of the gospel, ye all are partakers of my Grace.
Philippians 1:7 KJV
For I say, through the Grace given unto me, to every man that is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think; but to think soberly, according as God hath dealt to every man the measure of faith.
Romans 12:3 KJV
According to the Grace of God which is given unto me, as a wise master builder, I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.
1 Corinthians 3:10 KJV.
Each and every one of us is equipped with Grace to fulfill the ministry and calling God has placed on our lives.
“As every man hath received the gift, even so, minister the same one to another, as good stewards of the manifold Grace of God. If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.”
1 Peter 4:10-11 KJV
When you discover your calling and ministry and embrace it, you activate the Grace of God upon your life., opening you up to experience supernatural enablement at work on your behalf…..
“Whereof I was made a minister, according to the gift of the Grace of God given unto me by the effectual working of His power. unto me” Ephesians 3:7, 8
Having then gifts differing according to the Grace that is given to us, whether prophecy, let us prophesy according to the proportion of faith; or ministry, let us wait on our ministering: or he that teacheth, on teaching; or he that exhorteth, on exhortation: he that giveth, let him do it with simplicity; he that ruleth, with diligence; he that sheweth mercy, with cheerfulness.
Romans 12:6-8 KJV
There are different areas of ministry in the body of Christ and within your local Church; find your place and function there. Some people want to function as Teachers, but it is quite clear that it is not their area of ministry. The result is that they struggle to Teach, get people more confused, and people are not enlightened. The same goes for music ministry. We are not all called to be minstrels; some people are gifted by the Grace of God to function in that ministry.
There are people with the Grace of Administration. It is second nature to them; they ensure that things run smoothly and are excellent at coordination and organization. We have people who are gifted in writing; they have the Grace to articulate the Truth with simplicity and clarity. They have the “Scribe” anointing. Only some people are called into that ministry. My point is this; when you stay in the place of your gift and calling, you will experience the mighty workings of the Grace of God on your behalf.
Prayer: Lord, thank you for your gift and calling upon my life. Help me to stay committed and faithful to your calling in Jesus’ name. Amen
