TOPIC: Strategic Spiritual Warfare

TEXT: Joshua 6:1-7(GNT)

KEY VERSE: The gates of Jericho were kept shut and guarded to keep the Israelites out. No one could enter or leave the city. Joshua 6:1-7(GNT)

Anyone who desires to take his inheritance must be ready for warfare. Jericho was shut to keep the Israelites out; one devil\’s strategy is to deny you access to information about the location of your inheritance. Mephibosheth is an example of an heir who was denied his estate; it was in the hand of his servant Ziba until King David intervened and restored his legacy to him.

Guardians sometimes deny the heirs access to their inheritance so they can steal it.

But when the tenants saw the son, they said to themselves, ‘This is the owner’s son. Come on, let’s kill him, and we will get his property!‘ Matthew 21:33(GNT)

At other times guardians grant limited access, delay or postpone the time to hand over the physical or spiritual inheritance to the heirs of salvation.

In that case, you must be ready to contend for your estate and take your inheritance back.

Then the king called Ziba, Saul’s servant, and said, “I am giving Mephibosheth, your master’s grandson, everything that belonged to Saul and his family. 10 You, your sons, and your servants will farm the land for your master Saul’s family and bring in the harvest, to provide food for them. But Mephibosheth himself will always be a guest at my table.” (Ziba had fifteen sons and twenty servants.) Ziba answered, “I will do everything Your Majesty commands.”So Mephibosheth ate at the king’s table, just like one of the king’s sons.  Mephibosheth had a young son named Mica. All the members of Ziba’s family became servants of Mephibosheth.  2 Samuel 9:9-12(GNT)

God gave Joshua a strategy to bring down the wall and gates of Jericho. Divine strategies may not look scientific or logical, but men cannot dispute their results.

The weapons we use in our fight are not the world’s weapons but God’s powerful weapons, which we use to destroy strongholds. We destroy false arguments; 2Corinthians 10:4(GNT)

Gideon is another example of a person who won the battle using strategic spiritual warfare. His army’s numerical strength and unconventional weapons secured him victory contrary to a known military war.

“My thoughts are nothing like your thoughts,” says the Lord. “And my ways are far beyond anything you could imagine. Isaiah 55:8(NLT)

Trust the strategy of the Lord even if it looks slow, illogical, and weak. God can deliver on his promises, the fall of Jericho is a good example.

So the priests blew the trumpets. As soon as the people heard it, they gave a loud shout, and the walls collapsed. Then all the army went straight up the hill into the city and captured it. Joshua 6:20(GNT)

Prayer

  1. Father, I thank you because you are a master strategist.
  2.  Master, You are the same yesterday, today, and forever, do for me what you did to Jericho’s walls in Jesus’ name, amen.
  3. Father, I am sorry and repent for not trusting you on how to contend for my inheritance.
  4. Father, give me a divine strategy concerning the battle I am facing; speak to me as you spoke to Joshua in Jesus’ name.
  5. Father, as l obey you, let the heavens fight for me and let every gate resisting my advancement crumble in Jesus’ name.
  6. Father, send my co-laborers as l face my battles and quicken my friends, family, and ministers to collaborate with me in Jesus’ name.

Confession

No guardian will deny me access to my inheritance.
