Next Generation Leaders

Topic: Next Generation Leaders
Text: 1 SAMUEL 17:53-58

Key Verse: David took Goliath’s head to Jerusalem, but he kept Goliath’s weapons in his own tent. – 1 Samuel 17:54 CEV

David represents the next generation of leaders God is raising worldwide. There are no known names, but young people have built capacity and competence amid unfavorable conditions in life. He represents a company of people who are not afraid of anything the devil can do but rather magnify their God over and above any situation.

A youngster had never killed a giant in history, but David did it. This feat is a pointer today to many giant strides the next generation is taking in science, technology, sports, and commerce. The list of the richest men on earth today confirms this fact. Why is this so?

God is regularly on the move on the earth, looking for believers who can imagine greater things, believe in more extraordinary things, and dare to go farther than anyone else because of their faith in him.

For the eyes of Adonai move here and there throughout the whole earth, to show himself strong on behalf of those who are wholehearted toward him…….” – 2 Chronicles 16:9 JCB

I pray that Christ Jesus and the church will forever bring praise to God. His power at work in us can do far more than we dare ask or imagine. Amen. – Ephesians 3:20 CEV

Have you considered the result of your willingness to believe in God for miraculous things? Have you imagined what God can do if you decide to manifest radical faith?
What will be the result if you fail to confront your Goliath at the end of this year?

God is as ready as our faith can be prepared. God has decided to limit how much power He can manifest on earth; that limit is your faith.

But Jesus said to them, “If you have faith and don’t doubt, I promise that you can do what I did to this tree. And you will be able to do even more. You can tell this mountain to get up and jump into the sea, and it will. If you have faith when you pray, you will be given whatever you ask for.” – Matthew 21:21-22 CEV

Then Jesus touched their eyes and said, “Let it happen, then, just as you believe!“— – Matthew 9:29 GNT

It happened in David’s case just as he believed; what do you have faith for? If you don’t like what is happening to you and around you, what can you do differently about your beliefs?

Prayer works when made in faith according to the will of God. David didn’t pray as much as many have done in this time, but he had the kind of faith many of us need to develop.

“This very day the Lord will put you in my power; I will defeat you and cut off your head. And I will give the bodies of the Philistine soldiers to the birds and animals to eat. .” – GNT 1 Samuel 17:46

David did not only determine how Goliath would die, but he declared the outcome of the victory. It happened just as he said it would. Now we all know what God can do.

“Then the whole world will know that Israel has a God, and everyone here will see that the Lord does not need swords or spears to save his people. He is victorious in battle, and he will put all of you in our power ” 1 Samuel 17:47 GNT

I challenge you today; look at your situation differently today. Is it what God can handle? What can you do differently about this situation? What is the hindrance to you responding in faith to that situation?

Remember, you get to keep the evidence of your victory in the end. You are the chief beneficiary of the victory when you act in faith. The next generation is waiting for us to step out in giant strides of faith. If we delay, they will overtake us.

David brought honor to his father by his success in battle, is God’s name receiving glory and praise by your actions? You have options today, be intentional in your choices.

Prayer

Father, we are challenged today by the example of David; help us identify and overcome the limiting beliefs that have prevented us from reaching out for victory, new outcomes, and testimonies in Jesus’ name. Raise the next generation of leaders to go farther than we have to overcome the giants resisting our faith in Jesus’ name. Amen
