When The Spirit Comes

Topic: When The Spirit Comes

Text: 1 Samuel 10:10-16

Key Verse: When they came to Gibeah, behold, a group of prophets met him, and the Spirit of God rushed upon him, and he prophesied among them. – 1 Samuel 10:10

From the beginning, the Holy Spirit has always been the person of the Trinity who executes God’s Word to create a whole new situation.

The earth was without form and void, and darkness was over the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God was hovering over the face of the waters. – Genesis 1:2

The Holy Spirit comes to create, empower, enable and release the ability to do what has never happened before. In the same place, covered with darkness, formless and void, the power of God by the Holy Spirit brought forth different plants, trees, flowers, and assorted animals. Beauty came out of darkness; life came from a void place. God has planned glorious things to happen in your life this year. Are you ready for them?

The Holy Spirit does not come to execute our wishes but to activate the Spoken Word of God. What have you desired and prayed for? Do you have a sent word for that need? The Holy Spirit can not help you carry out an assignment contrary to the word of God.

so is my word that goes out from my mouth: It will not return to me empty but will accomplish what I desire and achieve the purpose for which I sent it. – Isaiah 55:11

As Saul came into alignment with the will of God, he arrived at the appointed place at the right time, and the Holy Spirit enforced the will of God.

Are you where God wants you to be? Are you serving God on your terms? Certain prophetic words and promises apply to a location. Jesus came and fulfilled everything prophesied about him, including where the prophets had said it would happen.

When they came to Gibeah, behold, a group of prophets met him, and the Spirit of God rushed upon him, and he prophesied among them. – 1 Samuel 10:10

It is important to note that Saul came into the older prophets and manifested his prophetic gift. Where do you hang out? Who are the people you spend most of your time with? They will rub off on you what they carry as iron sharpens iron.

Just as iron sharpens iron, friends sharpen the minds of each other. – Proverbs 27:17

Everyone who saw Saul prophesying was amazed because he was an unlikely candidate for such a feat. His family background did not qualify him for spiritual service, but God selected and enabled him by the power of the Holy Spirit.

Have you set a limit on your life because of your family background or your natural and educational qualifications? Repent and take the limit off first from your mind, and open up yourself to the Holy Spirit, for He comes to make all things new.

The spirit of the Lord took control of Gideon, and he blew a trumpet to call the men of the clan of Abiezer to follow him. – Judges 6:34

Fearful Gideon was able to mobilize an army when the Spirit of God took control of him.

Prayer
Father, as I intentionally make room for you in my life, may the Holy Spirit take over and wear me like a robe. May you break every glass ceiling that has made me less than I am and empower me to manifest your glorious destiny in Jesus’ name. Amen
