Topic: Cry No More
Text: 1 Samuel 30:1-8
Key Verse: They started crying and kept it up until they were too weak to cry any more. – 1 Samuel 30:4
The mission of the enemy is to steal, kill, and destroy everything good, but Jesus has come for the opposite to occur! The enemy is good at attacking you unawares, behind your back, at a time you least expect, to take away what you cherish and love so much. You may have been thrown into a season of distress because of the peculiar events of last year, or maybe yours was an event that occurred after a long battle, l bring you a word of hope, cry no more!
David and his men wept until there were too weak to cry anymore, then they realized that the pain was becoming permanent, then they turned on their leader David and blamed him for what the Amalekites had done. This is not a time to play the blame game, rather it is the time for recovery in Jesus Christ’s name.
Your anger lasts a little while, but your kindness lasts for a lifetime. At night we may cry, but when morning comes we will celebrate. – Psalm 30:5
This scripture is so powerful! At night we may cry, but when morning comes we will celebrate. Hallelujah! There’s a promise of celebration in the morning, can you see it?
Yes God gives beauty for ashes when we turn the issues over to him. When you dwell on the past, it will bring back memories of pain, helplessness, and hopelessness, but when you look to God, there is a future and hope. Grief must not be overextended.
and he said to the priest, “Abiathar, let us ask God what to do.” Abiathar brought everything he needed to get answers from God, and he went over to David. – 1 Samuel 30:7
Let us ask God what to do!* When should we do that? Now! God is all-knowing, all-powerful, all-loving, and can give you back all you have lost. Hallelujah!
Then David asked the Lord, “Should I go after the people who raided our town? Can I catch up with them?” “Go after them,” the Lord answered. “You will catch up with them, and you will rescue your families.” – 1 Samuel 30:8
David’s prayer of inquiry was specific, he made no assumptions about the will of God, and he got the answers he needed. Let us take our losses to the Lord this morning.
Prayer
✝Father, l thank you because of your love and mercy towards me.
✝Lord, l know nothing takes you by surprise, you are aware of my loss, my grief, and pain, and l know you are touched by it.
✝Father, l ask for mercy in any way my wrong choices and decisions brought this pain upon me, forgive me, and show me the way of escape in Jesus’ name.
✝I believe and receive your word, there is joy in the morning, Father shows me your will in my case in Jesus name. Teach me how to pray over this situation.
✝Holy Spirit, you are my helper, teach me how to ask and receive from the Father, answers that will give me direction out of this season of pain, in Jesus’ name.
✝Thank you, Lord, for the victory that belongs to you.
