Weapons Of Righteousness

Topic: Weapons of Righteousness

Text: 2 Corinthians 6:1-7

Key verse: We faithfully preach the truth. God’s power is working in us. We use the weapons of righteousness in the right hand for attack and the left hand for defense.

Victory over the adversary depends on not just what we do but on who we are. One of the enemy’s strategies is to create a crack in your union with the Lord to cut you off from divine back up, so you must not ignore the weapon of righteousness.

Paul in this second epistle to the believers in Corinth makes a list of all the things he had to put up with for the sake of the Gospel. He saw them as things that could have been viewed in a negative light, but he prefers to see them as proof of the calling of God on his life as a minister.

In everything we do, we show that we are true ministers of God. We patiently endure troubles and hardships and calamities of every kind.

Sometimes, putting up with troubles, hardship and calamities can become a spiritual battle that you can overcome simply by the armor of righteousness. When you choose to be un-offendable you manifest God’s righteousness and break the backbone of the enemy’s attack on you.

“I don’t have much more time to talk to you, because the ruler of this world approaches. He has no power over me, John 14:30

Righteous living is a weapon, Jesus was bold to say, …. “ He has no power over me\” May the enemy find nothing in you that represents him in Jesus’ name. Amen.

We live in perilous times, the devil is unleashing all kinds of attacks against the people of God, their families, and the church. He is fighting all God’s institutions especially marriage. You must be armed with the weapon of righteousness to disarm him.

Joseph a man chosen by God was not aware of spiritual warfare the way we understand it, but the scriptures reveal the battles he faced in Psalms 105; He sent a man before them, even Joseph, who was sold for a servant: Whose feet they hurt with fetters: he was laid in iron: Until the time that his word came: the word of the Lord tried him.

Battles arose from his family, then as a servant in his workplace, the enemy tried to corrupt his armor. He was held by strong fetters of iron from advancing to the place of destiny appointed for him, he didn’t live in offense or bitterness, he kept serving, continued giving and forgiving until his word came. While he suffered the word of God was trying him.

Your storms may have come from the devil, disguised as betrayals, disappointments, delays, and false accusations, he may have hurled business losses, the untimely death of loved ones, and financial hardships against you, you must ensure that your weapon of righteousness stays intact in the midst of all these, because the word of God will try you.

A little lie here and there, malice and unforgiveness, pride, and slander are just a few of the things that will pierce your armor of righteousness. All the devil seeks is a piece of his nature in you, and that gives him a foothold against your warfare.

No misfortune is in his plan for Jacob; no trouble is in store for Israel. For the Lord their God is with them; he has been proclaimed their king.

As long as we live right, Satan has no power to cause us damage. Balak wanted Balaam to curse the children of Israel, he was unable to do it because there was no sin in their midst, the moment the people turned to idolatry, God himself sent a plague that destroyed twenty-four thousand people. Numbers 25:1-9

Give no room to offense in these last days, whatever may have happened to you, make no provision for the flesh to defile you and turn God against you.

God is for you and will never fail you, let the weapon of righteousness speak for you in all you do.

I leave you with this assurance, that whatever happens today or tomorrow, God’s word says: God is not a man, so he does not lie. He is not human, so he does not change his mind. Has he ever spoken and failed to act? Has he ever promised and not carried it through?

Your case will end in victory and testimony in Jesus’ name. Amen.
