When Heaven Fights For You

Topic: When Heaven fights for you

Text: Joshua 10:1-21

Key verse: As the Amorites retreated down the road from Beth-horon, the Lord destroyed them with a terrible hailstorm from heaven that continued until they reached Azekah. The hail killed more of the enemy than the Israelites killed with the sword.

A believer in Jesus Christ his salvation and redemption is a very privileged person, you become a part of God’s family and a heir of God the day you confess your sins and profess faith in Jesus. Not many understand the implications of this new status and so they give room to the enemy’s lies that “no one loves them,” “they’ve abandoned me” , “no one cares.”

Just like a mother will not forget her child, God says ” I will not forget you”. The same way an earthly father will rise up to defend the interests of his earthly children, so God regularly fights for his children. The scriptures say …The Battle is the Lord\’s.

When you call for Backup the way the Gibeonites called, your voice will never go unanswered in Jesus name. Amen. If you are not afraid to trust God with your battles, as you call out in prayers, God will come speedily to your rescue in Jesus name. Amen.

The men of Gibeon quickly sent messengers to Joshua at his camp in Gilgal. “Don’t abandon your servants now!” they pleaded. “Come at once! Save us! Help us! For all the Amorite kings who live in the hill country have joined forces to attack us.”

Never be ashamed to call for help, that is one lesson modeled for us by so many people who experienced miracles, they opened their mouth to cry as loud as they could.

Some don’t cry out, because they are counting the number of times they have already called and no one answered, blind Bartimeus didn’t care how many failed attempts he had made, the syrophenician women didn’t mind what names she was called, her eyes were set on the desired result, her expectations and not her status, until she was heard. What’s holding you back? Offense, pride, unbelief, or  disappointment? Don’t let anything or anyone stop you, the friends of Jarius told him it was too late but he choose to hold on to the Master’s word because anything is possible when Heaven fights for you. Hallelujah!

The Gibeonites had no personal relationship with God, so they called out to Joshua, but Joshua knew the odds would  be against them if they went to battle alone, so he cried out to the Rock of Salvation, the mighty man of War, Lion of Judah! God showed up  just as he had promised!

When you run to your pastor, always remember he also runs to God, why not call God\’s direct line yourself?  Before trouble comes, call heaven’s line and get familiar with it. Hallelujah!

Many people who have grown up in dysfunctional homes, where the father was either absent or was unable to live up to his responsibilities due to the pressures of polygamy, find it difficult to trust God to fight for them, because they are already used to fighting for themselves from their childhood. I encourage you to relax and understand this father, he’s different, he is the heavenly Father; he keeps his promises, he’s not partial and he can do whatever he says he can do.

Father wounds in the life of a believer manifests in different ways, sometimes you find yourself exhibiting unexplainable anger, fear, high levels of distrust and even rebellion. Sometimes you notice you are so unsure of yourself , lack confidence and battle with low self esteem or codependency issues.

You can find your healing today if you will stop running to the Joshua’s of this world and return to your heavenly father to fix the problems. Yes, human assistance can make a difference but that is nothing compared to when God takes up your case or battle.

“Do not be afraid of them,” the Lord said to Joshua, “for I have given you victory over them. Not a single one of them will be able to stand up to you.”

That day when God arose to keep his promise, more people died because of hailstones from heaven than human assault. God made his people crush the enemies despite their number and they fled till Israel had rest and no one dared to speak against them anymore.

As you read the text, notice that the people of God fought too, Joshua and the men of war pursued and fought till they had the victory. Joshua also stepped up and made a request no man had dared to make before, because of the exigency of that challenge. Heaven honoured his request, the sun stood still for him to bring closure to the matter.

On the day the Lord gave the Israelites victory over the Amorites, Joshua prayed to the Lord in front of all the people of Israel. He said, “Let the sun stand still over Gibeon, and the moon over the valley of Aijalon.”

13 So the sun stood still and the moon stayed in place until the nation of Israel had defeated its enemies.

What is that unending feud that will not give you peace in your marriage? What is that sickness that has defied solution? The testimony of the woman with the issue of blood is there as an exhibit, God will heal you in Jesus name! Amen. That prolonged court case will be resolved as you invite heaven to take over the case, stop leaning on the senior advocates, Jesus is your advocate before the Father.

I decree that Divine missiles will crush every wicked spirits scrambling to have your children in Jesus name, l decree that unfriendly counselors will run from you as heaven fights against them in Jesus name. Amen.

You will no longer live in fear of men when you have God as Father. Every door opened to fear, unbelief and anger in your life, is shut today in Jesus name.  l command  deliverance from satanic oppression in Jesus mighty name. Amen!

Rise and fight you have divine backup!
