Spirit’s Help

Topic : Spirit’s Help

Text: Psalm 139:7

I can never escape from your Spirit! I can never get away from your presence!

God’s spirit is with us always. As people made in the image of God, we have a spirit, soul and a body. These three parts of us, account for our wholeness.

When our physical bodies feel pain we withdraw from the source of pain, where it is difficult to relocate; we make every effort to limit closeness or contact with the source of pain. When we have emotional pain, we also withdraw mentally by engaging in deep thoughts, to analyze the cause of the pain. We often replay the events, looking for answers for the why, who or what happened. As we settle with perceived answered, we are weighed down by the answers especially when we blame ourselves and others for the pain.

Our spirit also responds to hurts and pains and emotional hurts affect our physical bodies. But a broken spirit drys the bones. Proverbs 17:22

David asked a question in proverbs,  The human spirit can endure a sick body, but who can bear a crushed spirit? Prov. 18:14

In this broken state our spirit become vulnerable to other spirits like, fear, anger, bitterness, unforgiveness etc. Some open up themselves to thoughts that make them hurt their physical bodies to ease the emotional pains. Eating disorders arise when people start to turn their pain on themselves.

Good news! While all these are going on, the Holy Spirit is ever so near to minister life in place of death. The Spirit of God gives joy, peace and comfort, not from the circumstances, but from his nature.

When you welcome the Holy Spirit, and surrender the situation you are facing, he takes over and fills you with peace you can’t explain.

It is not a wise thing to do, to run from Holy Spirit when you are in pain. Even if you are locked up in a room, or prison cell, the Holy Spirit’s help can reach you there!

I can never get away from your presence!

Say this out as loud as you can. God is here! Holy Spirit is here! I yield my spirit to you, God! I open my heart and ask every other spirit to leave now in Jesus name. (Twice). Holy Spirit, hold me close, walk with me till this darkness is past, in Jesus name. Amen.
